What is a nixie tube clock?
A nixie tube clock displays time using gas-discharge tubes originally developed in the 1950s. The EleksTube IPS series uses modern IPS LCD screens inside genuine quartz glass tubes to faithfully simulate the warm, floating-digit glow of vintage nixie tubes — without the high voltage, limited lifespan, or fragility of original tubes.
How do I set up the clock?
Simply connect the USB-C cable to a power source (5V/1A). The clock starts immediately. To enable WiFi time sync, connect to the clock's WiFi hotspot from your phone or computer, then enter your home WiFi credentials through the Web UI Control Center. The clock will automatically sync time via NTP servers.
Can I customize the clock face?
Yes. Every EleksTube IPS clock comes with 6 built-in clock faces switchable by button press. You can access 40+ additional designs through the EleksMaker PC client (Windows 10/11), upload your own photos as custom clock faces, and customize RGB lighting effects with 16 million color options.
Does it require an app?
No app is required. The clock is controlled through a built-in Web UI accessible from any browser on your phone, tablet, or computer. For advanced clock face customization, a free PC client is available for Windows 10/11.
What is the difference between IPS PRO and PR series?
The IPS PRO features a CNC-machined aluminum alloy base with a premium heavyweight feel. The PR series (PR2 Transparent, PR3 Just White) uses lightweight polycarbonate bases in different colorways. All models share the same IPS LCD display technology, WiFi connectivity, and software features.
